Ever play a game in which there are a row of people (say 6 or more) and the first whispers something in the person's ear next to him and that person whispers what he heard to the next and so on and so on? And the last person reveals what he heard and usually its way off the mark. Well this is something like that, sort of...well, you know...uh, hope this helps.
