They're PREVENTING terrorism. And I defend them for what they're doing because I probably would never do that job. It is the armed forces that enables us to be mostly worry-free while they do the gruesome stuff.

You can only be worry-free if you choose to ignore the facts. A war that won't end, the torturing, an increasing number of people (non-Saddam followers) resisting the americans. This will only escalate, unless the US withdraws their troops and lets a real peacekeeping force step in. Untill then, it's fudging up the world economy. Preventing terrorism with more terrorism? Keep that up and the worst is yet to come..

Why is it that the US always comes to the rescue when it comes to the problems of other countries

South of the Sahara, Malaria kills a child every 20 seconds. I always wonder, why spend billions of billions of tax dollars to end up torturing civilians or bombing weddings, while that money could actually be put to a use over there in Africa. The US only "helps countries" out of self interest, it has always been like this. Otherwise they would be there in Africa, where the real need is.
