yeah, you have to reinstall something from the windows disk. not sure about your operating system, but i had this exact same problem with windows 98. the sad thing is, i dont remember how to fix it. i know i didnt use sfc... but i remember reinstalling some audio and video stuff from the windows 98 cd.
