The idea is, you have the main /Dink Smallwood directory and there, you see directories like /dink (the original game) and /island (Mystery Island D-Mod). Now, every D-Mod should have its own directory there. And, every D-Mod has directories like Story, Graphics, Sound and Tiles. So, to correctly install a D-Mod, you need to make it something like this:
C:\Program Files\Dink Smallwood\dmod\
where "dmod" is a short name for the directory where all the D-Mod files. So, in most cases - you need to create a new directory yourself, give it a name and unzip all the files in that directory. Then you can use a FrontEnd (or a command line) to start them.
