Hi everyone! I know this is an old thread, but I’m hoping some former Funeral Quest players are still around.
I started working on a game inspired by Funeral Quest during the pandemic. I wanted to bring back that experience of running a funeral business, making a few decisions each day, and competing with other players over a season.
This has been a long-term personal project, with more than a year of work invested in it. One of my biggest obstacles was the artwork: I couldn’t create all the graphics I needed on my own, and the project stalled. When generative AI tools became widely available, I was able to return to it and create some of the missing artwork, which helped me finally bring the game together.
I want to be upfront about that: some of the graphics are AI-generated, though not all of them. This wasn’t a game produced overnight from a single prompt. If the use of AI-generated artwork makes a game unsuitable for you, this probably won’t be a good fit, and that’s fine. I’d rather make that clear before anyone spends time on the test.
The game is called Coffin Empire. It has its own mechanics, but the short daily sessions and competition across a season are central to its design. That’s why I’m specifically looking for people who played Funeral Quest and enjoyed that rhythm.
I’m putting together a small private Android playtest for a full 21-day season. Early sessions can take a little over 10 minutes a day, growing to around 20–30 minutes as more activities become available. The game is available in English, and installation is through Google Play’s closed testing system, not an APK sent directly to you.
I’d love feedback on the decisions, pacing, balance, interactions between players, and anything that feels unclear or doesn’t work properly. Informal feedback is welcome; there’s no need for a formal review or public coverage.
Did anyone here play Funeral Quest, and would you be interested in trying it? Feel free to reply here. I’d also love to hear which server you used to play on.
