Peasant He/Him

I have plenty enough songs to make another blog like before, but I'll just post this song instead.

Homeless Bob

There’s a man on the corner
Sucking his dirty toe
Like little Jack Horner’s pie

He has a shopping cart
His family’s legacy
He has another holey pair of pants
For when he has to pee
They never seem to last too long

He’s Homeless Bob
He’s a homeless bum
He’s a loser, a boozer
You could call him dumb
But I wouldn’t call him scum

Bob never really had a name
He looked like a burnt-out junkie
All the junkies look the same
So we called him Bob

Rich people want their mansions
Enough to buy them with interest from stocks
Bob, he’d be happy to have a sturdy cardboard box

Bob said he lost his job
I wonder if he ever had one
I think McD’s requires bathing once a year
Bob’s not quite a steer
He still had one ball left after ‘Nam

He still has some class
He still has some soul
His famous painting was “Smeared Sh*t on the Bathroom Wall”

Bob has made a lot of mistakes
He’s always driven on the left side
His lifelong mate is his curled right hand
Living in the gutter where rats tread
The image of poor Bob will always hang in your head

Bob died later
He didn’t have a funeral
But his body is at the cemetery
Good old Bob died of dysentery
