The current FreeDink maintainer started a thread and we kind of started posting bug reports there already
Well, yes, but when a new freedink release gets out then the Linux users will have to wait until their distribution picks it up, which may not even happen until the next version of the distro is released. The build script is meant as a temporary "quickfix", it installs the fixed version in /opt, without interfering with the version provided by their distro.
I think discussing possible issues of a temporary solution in other threads may take too much focus.
PS: Just saw your list in the other thread about additional possible long/int issues. Will check it out and see if additional patches may be required.
