Seeing the icon in a different light makes me appreciate it a lot more. A "D" for Dink, within it the three major weapon types of Dink Smallwood: sword, bow, and spell. Before I just saw kind of a weird helmet with a sword sticking out of it or something, almost as if it was a face. I guess I just never really stopped to closely examine it since I had that strange image impressed into my mind from trying to tell what it was when I was a kid.
Pretty cool redesign, by the way! I think the only thing I'd change is make the background of the inside of the "D" contrast more, to get more sense of depth. And perhaps make the arrow a bit thicker and the head/feather a bit larger. The sword and especially the spell look great though.
