Skurn actually has a point. You had PMed me regarding writing at one point, and the most important thing I've ever learned regarding it is that people don't use obscure words in normal conversation, and if they do, they're arrogant pricks who think they're better than everyone with no basis in reality for believing this. I write and speak more formally than most people I know because that was how I was taught to write and speak, whereas most people pepper their sentences with slang and colloquialisms. I am an exception because, again, it's how I was taught English.
