Oh, NOW YOU'VE DONE IT! 
It sounds identical to the inbuilt Yamaha GS Wavetable synth in Windows 98 onwards, and because you're using a soundFont it probably ignores any sysex messages for effects (if any).

I'm tempted to boot up my old laptop which has an OPL3 in it for some proper old Dink charm.
