Is Latex super good?
If you are a programmer, it is. It's a way to describe your layout in a way that is more like a program. The two main benefits of it are that it is easy to make a (large) document look consistent, including in figures like graphs or musical scores (things that are almost impossible with other ways of editing) and that it is very good with mathematical formulas.
If you don't use formulas and don't care about things looking sloppy, you don't need it. Otherwise, it's worth learning.
