Let's not forget that Windows 10 spies on us, even if we turn off stuff that send informations to em. Windows 7 and 8 also do that but only if we install some parts of it and they can be uninstalled.
As for linux, there is always Linux Mint which is pretty damn popular due to the fact it sticks to the classic style.
