Not crazy at all, I think it's a beautiful idea. I'd get a copy for myself, provided that shipping wouldn't end up costing many times more than the book itself.
As long as it's non-profit, I don't see any kind of moral problem... However, asking Cocomom or Tim's wife would be classy, as they knew him better than anyone here and should be able to give a better handle on how he would've felt about something like that.
