The board is now a survival horror game.

No one really noticed it at first. But slowly, the activity on the board was diminishing. Once-active posters were no longer posting. Did anyone question it? Was it not, after all, natural for people to come and go, move onto other things?

Oh, the lost were sometimes mentioned in passing. I wonder what that old codger, SabreTrout, is up to these days. Or his arch-nemesis, Jamie the Name-Crafter. But did anyone really pursue their disappearance?

As more and more people vanished, you could feel something terrible loom over the board, oppressive but utterly intangible. Carrie, the beaver from Canada. MsDink, the friendly neighborhood grandmother with a sinister past. Skull, the 9000-post wondergun.

People made excuses. Even as posts on the board trickled down to less than one per day, they denied any malevolent presence. Oh, Carrie must have been eaten by a polar bear. MsDink's probably dead from old age. And Skull's too busy watching My Little Pony to visit the board anymore.

But what about Sparrowhawk! MadStalker! redink1 himself!

It's natural, they said. It's a wonder we've been around as long as we have. Meh, they said.

What would happen next? Would you wake up one day, log onto the board, and find yourself the only one left alive? What is this terrible lethargy, gripping the minds of the board's once vigorous people...?

No one could see the sinister something that was enveloping the world of the board, even as they themselves disappeared... No one, except YOU!

Are you a bad enough dude to solve the curse of the board, before it catches up and consumes you too?
