If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
There's no rush. If you have a genuine Win7/8 copy now, you'll get Win10 for free when your download is ready. I'm not sure about the license system but there's always some available tricks for that.
And yes, this will be the definitive Windows release which will be continuously improved. It's slick and DX12.
