If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
The engine itself isn't half-assed. Here's what you do:
1. Download FreeDink, extract freedink.exe into your Dink Smallwood folder.
2. Set DFArc to use FreeDink. Edit -> Options -> 'Choose Dink application', choose freedink.exe
