Some dubs are very good though, like the English dubs of Cowboy Bebop and (imo) Full Metal Alchemist / Brotherhood.
My girlfriend used to watch Full Metal Alchemist back when it aired here some years back. It's really the only anime I know anything about, but still very little as I never really paid too much attention to all the crazy storylines. From what I remember, the voice-work was pretty solid. It was subtitled here though, as a lot of shows are, and I can't remember whether it was the original Japanese voices or the English dub. If it indeed was the English dub, then I never noticed anything wrong with it (believe me, I'd have noticed. I'm somewhat of a nerd when it comes to voice acting stuff

Also, whenever I hear the name "Cowboy Bebop", I immediately think about Bebop from Ninja Turtles wearing a stetson.
