This is the point where if no further action is taken, there will be a baby

No, that point is long before that. When a boy and a girl meet, you are there already. Unless we tell them that they shouldn't make a baby (it works best if the talk is accompanied by tools to prevent pregnancy; preventing sex is a lost cause), they will. It's in our nature.

As for rape...a hard one to decide. [...] if they can't [take care of the baby] they should not get an abortion but ...

Making a child is a way to be immortal. A part of you lives on in your child. It has half of your genes. The idea that half the rapist is in your child is really bad. I can well imagine that someone who has been raped considers it bad enough to not want this child to be living at all.

It's not just "I wasn't ready for having a child"; the child itself is the problem, so it makes sense to kill it.

And killing really isn't that bad. Pigs are much more intelligent and self-aware than unborn children, or even young children. Therefore, killing pigs is morally much more objectionable than abortion. So people who are against abortion should better be vegetarians as well. But AFAIK many of the "pro-life" people also like hunting and eating lots of meat... I don't know how they can combine that.
