Other than just the possible moral issues behind porn, there are some things that porn can do to you and your mind if you are vulnerable which can damage your relationship and sex life even if your spouse doesn't dislike porn. It's kind of like drugs though, in that it affects different people in different ways. Some people can watch a little bit of porn and still have a great sex life and a clean mind while others end up addicted to porn and can't even climax with their partners any more even if they try (but often they won't even feel like it) and end up terribly miserable. So porn is not necessarily a horrible thing but if you are not careful it can easily become one, once again similar to drugs. If anyone is interested I can try to figure out where I found this information but if you try to look it up it probably wouldn't be too hard to find.
I don't really think it's even necessarily the fact that he isn't linking to proof, but that he himself can't back up his beliefs in a simple sentence.
He seems to think it is proof enough just that he believes it, essentially, even with extremely generalized statements. No need to explain where he gets ridiculous sounding statistics or to give any reason why he thinks something is true. Reminds me of this shirt: Statistics Shirt
