its true - people that are entertaining sometimes have curly hair - but to spin it the other way, - sometimes they dont as well. Straight haired comedians - all men following your own example 
John Cleese, Peter Sellars, Jimmy Carr, Jim Carey
While some with curly hair are just think theyre funny like Seinfield, or this guy who is soooo not funny its embarrassing
Makes you wonder if it isnt so much the "Spring in their follicules" that makes them funny but maybe their humour, their way of delivering it or they are simply the sort of humor u are used to so its funny to you - and may not be to others...
Over this side of the world we find British humour funnier than American - but thats caus its what we are used to - its in our genes since many of us came from there historically... doesnt mean american humor is bad - it just doesnt make us laugh as much.
The two greatest slapstic comedians both had straight hair - Laurel and Hardy so I dont see why comedians appear to only be funny with curly hair sorry
