I have no idea what motivated you to review my file in the first place as you obviously have no interest in it.

Uh... So you should only ever review files you like? No wonder most reviews we get nowadays are 9+. Since we haven't really had that many people reviewing files I think it's a good thing if people just review files they feel need to be reviewed. I've also reviewed files in the past that I did not have any intention of using myself, does that make me a substandard reviewer? If a file doesn't have any purpose, does that make it unreviewable?

Now I haven't actually tried MouseDink myself, but I think it is strange to say that gameplay is unimportant for such a file. It is not like criticizing someone for the dodgy one screen DMOD that goes along with a graphics pack but more akin to criticizing someone for the dodgy hardboxes that go with his graphics. Having a good gameplay mechanism is just essential for releasing a new combat system.

It is indeed like releasing your new monster graphics with bad hardboxes saying that's not a problem as it can easily be fixed. Perhaps it can, but it limits the 'out of the box' usability of the file, so it is a valid point of criticism. In fact I recently spend some time reviewing some development files that didn't have any scores yet (inspired by this thread) and I know I used similar arguments for other files.

And if it isn't a development file but just a demonstration the point is even more valid: What's the point of setting up a demonstration that isn't optimalized? Isn't that a waste of good scripting?

Also, you don't have to defend your scripts. It is you who choose to do so by posting this thread at this point in time and by having a defensive attitude towards Scratcher's posts. I mean, if it wasn't for your responses I wouldn't have felt the need to post this particular post...

EDIT: The recent reviews I mentioned haven't actually been posted on TDN yet, I still have them in some .txt files for submission later.

EDIT2: Also, what annoys me greatly is that people who are critical of a file should have much better arguments than people who enjoy a file. It seems like giving out straight nines without much of an argument is no problem, but giving out sixes should require a well balanced essay.
