You can't buy the house or get a job. That was going to be included in the game, but couldn't due to time constraints.
To get to Koka Isle (with the ducks), go south of Windemere. You'll see a little path outlined in shells on the beach leading out to sea. Walk down the 'path' and across the water to get to the island.
