I added multi-dir support (dink dir + a separate d-mods dir), on-the-fly translations from .po files, .ogg music support, and I considered adding more features, but I kinda stopped half-way. It takes guts to make big changes
I already did some work to maintain both 1.07 and 1.08's different limits,
I think it's well possible to experiment.
Make sure you use the latest (unreleased) FreeDink source btw:

There are a few additional bugfixes there (including the palette stuff in Blacksmith).
