Its the ducks, they shut him in the closet when he was a little duckling and pushed their hands thru the cracks and harshly ripped out feather after feather till they plucked him bare, timing it intermittently so he never knew when it was coming!

Alas such a sad tale... I dont think many amongst us would feel very attractive when plucked bare... and there fellas is DuckHaters tail - err tale
