If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
Steam makes it more convenient than ever to own games.
You don't own any of the games you buy. At any time they can be removed from your account (suspected credit card fraud etc.) and you're then unable to play them ever again. All you're buying is a serial number which can be revoked or invalidated.
I am not going to buy vidya games if the devs are going to treat legitimate customers as if they're criminals.
