If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
I do not remember anything like a volcano. Maybe it is a potion bottle, they wiggle and jump. Just keep going generally north and east over a series of bridges. If you can get to the end, pass some very bad monsters, you will find gold and several potions.
