I've got a bunch of crap from my old high school creative writing class. Can't say I write much now, but I still have that old crap on my PC. Here's one...
I know what you want me to be. You’ve said so many times
Perfection? Is this your will? Well, it appears I’m far behind
I know not what is possible.
Though, certainly you do
Have you been through this life entirely? Should I follow only you?
I know your dreams are full of certainty and purposeness
Have you only dreams of my ends? What of your existence?
I know not where my path leads. Though, my path is but new
Are you sure you’ve seen this road before? Was your trail cut for you?
I know of your colors.
And your brush of choice
Must you paint my world?
Must you be my voice?
I know not of running
or why I keep this pace
These goals you’ve set before me.
Am I striving to finish your race?
I know this world. Your world.
What beauty it beholds
Does my life look just like this? Must fate be so bold?
I know not how to follow.
Though continue on your trail
Will you forgive me if I venture?
If I get lost, succeed, or fail?
Will You?
