I've always been fond of the adopt a story idea, but it rarely works. It's hard to get on the same page as the author and by time you've communicated every detail to the person making the DMOD, you probably could've learned to do it yourself.

Also, if it is a great story it would probably take a long quest or epic DMOD to convey it. That in itself is a daunting task that could take a year+ to make. A general plot idea for a ROMP could work, but I see that's probably not what you're going for. Anything more than that is too much to ask for the average DMOD author.
