My favourite is FFTA for the Game Boy Advance. I loathe the games in the numbered series, and I didn't like Final Fantasy Tactics either. I played Crisis Core, but it felt like an absolute chore to play. Most of Square/Enix's other games were great though. I got angry while playing Secret of Mana and never went back to it.

I also hated the PS2 ones, because my friends all claimed that the graphics were mad awesome. They were referring to the pre-rendered cut-scenes...
