If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
This is an incredibly flawed system. I didn't read the intro either. Try lowering lifemax to something like ten and use the H key after running into some monsters. Apparently even though i'm on death's door, I apparently, "Have too much health to use an elixir!".
