If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
The boots aren't necesary. They can make your game a lot easier though. To get to the Goblin camp and KernSin, you have to do all the quests in Terris first.
BTW, it's called Dink Smallwood. FreeDink is just the program so you can run the game on Linux.
