You can make one in a matter of days, but I wouldn't advise it.
A Knights Tale was made in 3 days. Cloud Castle 2 took 3-4 years.
If I was working on something nowadays, I wouldn't announce it. Too many projects get announced and never appear which is quite disheartening to see. If I was to release another d-mod, I would only announce it when it was ready for beta testing.
