I'll repeat myself this once, though this may not even be a repeat;
If you change your mind and decide to use an IRC program, be it an executable or browser based, then just don't access anything EXCEPT for the Dink chat. You'll be fine, the channel we use isn't shown on the server list, so you can only join it if you know the channel name anyway. And those of us who DO use the Dink chat won't send you anything bad, exept maybe the most random of Youtube links.
