Yes, the NWN editor is a lot easier, you only have 2 dimensions to worry about and a lot of the graphical stuff is set up automatically. In other words, you don't need to decorate rooms in NWN, because that's automated (for the most part), but that also means you CAN'T really decorate rooms. This annoyed me, as I like to use objects and archetecture to convey a certain atmosphere in a game. In NWN you're stuck with having to use one of just a few tilesets for the entire map.
For me, the NWN editor is just too limiting for my tastes.
