i left to sea without $4000 and talked to the mermaid east of port and she said to come back when i had the $4000. got the money, went back and she's nowhere to be found. also bought a sailboat and tried to go inland to other mermaid and i cant get by a bridge. anyone have any suggestions?????????

Have you accidentally hit the mermaid with a spell? If so, there's not much anything you can do aside from restarting the game.

take a sail boat and immediately start going north, there you take a left into the river (there are no bridges blocking your way here), find the mermaid where you first saw her...?

sorry my mistake, you cannot use a sail boat, only "row boat" can go into the river.....
