I successfully formatted my computer in order to make it work better, but this has it's downsides. It's impossible to play earlier versions of Dink as Dink zooms to the next screen at the slightest touch of an arrow key, and using dinkedit is troublesome as it's difficult to select certain map screens or tiles, even sprites move too fast. This happens in earlier versions as well as v1.08.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced similar problems, or has a way to fix them? I guess I could use a CPU slower but that's the last option.

PS. I can see the "LOLZ OMG SWITC 2 WDE DE SUCZ ROFFALO" replies coming; Don't bother. =)

WDE won't fix Dink errors, that's for sure.

Kinda weird this happens, seeing as the goal of 1.08 was to try to fix these speed issues. Sorry if I cannot help much. Did you try switching between 8-bit or true colour mode?

I remember my friend had that problem on his computer (it was an earlier version of Dink I'm pretty sure.) Could it be something to do with the operating system? What version of windows are you running?

Just to be clear, the game itself works fine on v1.08, dinkedit is the only thing that's too fast. I did try all kinds of things, including changing the compatibility mode, colours, and playing around with my system settings (fixed another bug in the process actually, DPI was at 120, couldn't see the X and Y coordinates in Dinkedit).

@MichaelIV: It's XP version rock and stick, before SP2 anyway. I weren't going to put a web connection on that computer but I guess I'll try updating it... Thanks for the tip.

The guy with the cute D-Mod. 
I would recommmend using WinDinkEdit though. It wouldn't move so fast because it isn't full screen and you use the mouse not te keyboard. But, is there a way to run DinkEdit in windowed mode? If there is, try running it like that. Some other programs I've got run too fast and stuff up, but when I run them in windowed mode, it runs fine.

It was just an example as there are no other ways to resolve it apparently. I'm not insinuating he can't find one himself, just trying to help

It's fixed! While Dink's still pretty fast, he's not super fast, and the editor works as it's supposed to. I never got around to doing anything about the problem but I suspect it was with directX, since I did install a game that included a newer version of it.
