When I get to the whirlpool, Dink's life gets exhausted and he says, "My luck just run out.." (something like that). My stat for Luck is 11. How much more of it before I get lucky?

Isn't there an item that may help you get through, too? Or is it used for something I never discovered? You know what I'm talking about.

As far as I know, just the boat, don't try it with a sail boat.

I think Striker is talking about the Lucky Dice. They don't help with the whirlpool, but they do help play the dice again against the barfly opposite the one you buy them from... They boost your luck and you can win 4000 gold from this guy. But you've got to have a decent amount of luck to start with - mind you I don't think you can start gambling with him until you've got the boat license so you must have reasonable luck already to get that far

I don't know if SimonK planned this or not, but when I tried to enter the whirlpool, I must have died about 20 times. Then I noticed my luck stat was at 13. Very unlucky. I went back to land and leveled up once more. I changed my luck stat to 14 and entered the whirlpool the first time after that.
