Error in Port Town Cave
Pilgrim's Quest
I found an error in the cave near the guy who sells boats.
I got "stuck" in the cave walls while fighting the 2 red nights and scorpion. I could still fight them, but I was just out of reach. Once the screen was unlocked I got to the next screen, beat that monster, and then went down another frame. I was back in the catacombs underneath the Firewood Forest. Go figure, I was travelling inside the walls. Then Dink just crashed on me. I was running the v.99 patch.
Also, when I save with confusion as magic, when I load the game, I have nothing equipped in magic. The tree next to the cave in Port Town won't stay burned down either...

I take it you are playing the M-rated version. What you are experiencing is the hardness/screenlock bug that is generic to the Dink Engine. Screenlock on a map with hardness at the edges and the player can walk across the hardness at the edges. There is no none fix for this, save not have a screenlock on anything but a screen without hardness at the edges (at least that I know of)

Yes this a weird bug. I've come across it and so have the Beta testers, don't know why it happens. I've tried changing scripts, graphic icons nothing seemed to fix it. I think you'll find a not to it in the readme.txt file.

Hmmm, well, the map is corrupt. There were once 3 trees on that screen and one of the beta testers discovered the middle one kept coming back. So I deleted it, but the corruption has spread. I was hoping to avoid doing a complete map to map copy, but I guess not. Ver 1.00 with be with a clean map. I've done this once before... not sure what caused the map corruption, as I've used both DinkEdit and WinDinkEdit (various versions from 0.80 up) throughout the year long gestation PQ had. Plus I've used Sprite Replacer. Map to Map coming fixed the bug before, I hope it fixes it again and hold this time. (I no longer use WDE or Sprite Replacer on PQ)
