The Best Day Off of this Year (So Far)

Now I work five 8 hour days a week and I tend to use one of my days off entirely doing chores, errands, and assorted housework and odd jobs. That gives me one whole day free barring any unseen surprise job. Unfortunately I often end up having something come up or someone needs something so I lose some of my day off...

However today was one of the few times I did almost nothing, but more importantly accoplished a lot of enjoyment and in multiple particular ways.

I finally watched "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" after about 5 years of various acquaintances begging me to see it. It was...hilarious! I mean maybe not one of the best comedys Ive ever seen, but very good. I'm also glad I can now understand all the references (Luke's avatar) I see in things now and then and also understand why everyone thinks the British are so funny. (The various British members here aside.)

I also moved into the 21st century and got a cable modem installed today. Its an upgrade from the 56k dial-up I've been using all the years previous. WOW pages load instantly and I can download stuff that took hours in minutes...no more starting a download then reading a book and coming back hours later. The money saved in electricity from doing that is probably covering half the cost of the cable. Not to mention I can game online with no lag and host now with people actually joining and staying on my server.

I finished Star Ocean 3 a semi-linear rpg for the PS3. It was better than most console rpgs, but not really memorable. At least now I can start on a vast amout of other games I've been waiting to play.

Oh and I read a manga all the way through in only two hours. What amazes me isnt that it was short, but that I enjoyed it so much I didnt mind at all. Also considering it was my first manga I can now easily see why people like them so much and will get more in the future. (Actually I've owned multiple books for the past two years that I didnt read, because they were part of a set and I didnt want to read the first unless I knew I could get to the last since I planned on being addicted.)

As you can tell all the stuff I had were gifts or things I accumulated over time. I sure earned it and $10 more a month for the cable is easily worth it for the time it saves. It comes out too about 1 hour more of time each week in time saved waiting online.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

I wish broadband here in New Zealand was half as affordable as that. Most people can only afford dialup here.
