Chop your own wood, and it will warm you twice.
You're using windows XP, right? You need the 1.07 upgrade. You can download it from here.

The best way to start a DMOD is by using the DMOD Skeleton. All the files you need to start a DMOD are there. Then, you just have to run the FrontEnd, and click Edit.

Ok....so when I download that, I just need to use the front end and go to edit? Is that AFTER I us the File Archiver? Or before.

Actually it depends on personal preference. Dinkedit > WinDinkedit, shall we have a flame war on this...

Any fool can use a computer. Many do.
/me votes for DinkEdit.

Anyway, on topic: the File Archiver (DFArc) is really the last step in creating a D-Mod, first you need to create the D-Mod, then you can zip it using DFArc. And to create the D-Mod, you need to know how to make the map with DinkEdit/WinDinkEdit and you need to make the scripts with whatever program/Easy DinkC/Notepad/etc.

No, we shall not have a flame war on whether Dinkedit is better than WinDinkedit: frankly, I don't care (others don't either), and it leads nowhere. Stick to the original post.
