Mardi gras is my favorite holiday, everybody has fun and for no reason (atleast for most people). Parades, random kinds of candy, beads, and girls...who like beads...alot, maybe too much hehe... Yep I got back yesterday from Nawleans(New Orleans in actual english) just now getting out of that party harty mood. Anyways I was wondering if they had Mardi Gras across the pond and what do yall do? I think Mardi GRas is catholic and french I am not sure though...

No, we don't have Mardi Gras. We just get hammered on White Lightning and dance about our houses to the music of Vanilla Ice.

Or at least, that's what I do...

Mmmm, pizza.
We (the south of the Netherlands) have it too. We call it "carnaval". It's just about the same as Mardi Gras. 'cept for the beads and the candy We have music that's just wrong

And yes, it's catholic, though it's more some cultural thing of "the south" (as them northern-people call it). I know a lot of protestants who celebrate it more than I do

Thats funny, its just where I live (US) we are usually seperated into "the north" and "the south" you know the whole civil war thing, lots of tension still there. But yeah people(mostly schools) in order to get around people who claim religous holidays are illegal they call it "carnival" too...
