Well, I installed DS and it runs fine... but when I kill giant bugs and spotted pancakes and even that monster in the first cave, I get no coins. None whatsoever. And, uh, I'm guessing that's not supposed to happen. Only money I got was from that wizard guy when I passed the kill-monster test. I tried restarting and the same thing happened. Is this some known bug? I saw nothing on the FAQ...

i dont think you should get coins for killing them, since you need the money from the wizard to pay the bridge guy and if you get money for evry monster you kill it would be eay makin over that bridge.

You don't get money for small monsters (like the pillbugs you are talking about). Later in the game, you will get coins for killing foes, like slayers.

You can however sell nuts...

Why would you sell your nuts?

well.. you get 2 coins for it, it isnt very much, but you do get som money.

Yeah, but that isn't money as in "I need another 1000 coins to buy that Uber Bow"

No, but he needs a regular sword first, and if he's not strong enough to kill the monsters over the bridge side, running back and forth selling nuts is always an option
