update:Awesome maltese
yippee! He still lives. He is such a brave little guy after being bit by that rattler. Thanks to all of you that wished him well.
He has these nasty holes in him where the venom putrified the flesh and the vet cut it out but he's home for good and hobbling around. He has to wear these cute little diapers and onesies to keep him from licking the holes but he's getting better every day. And back to doggy kisses and half licks.

I'm glad to hear your little Maltese is okay. He must be quite a fighter! Is he going to recover completely? And I hope you're all better from that strep virus, too.

Thank you, neithskye. Yes , he is a fighter. The vet said he expected Bit to die the first nite and should have died shortly thereafter.
The third and fourth days, I was told poor Bit only had a 30 to 40% chance to live. I've never seen a more sickly animal than he was. The vet let me stay in the kennels holding Bit for most of every day. Bit didn't even have the strenght to wriggle his tail when I would get there.
I wish I knew how to put a picture of him on the board. He is so cute in his diapers and onesies. And best of all, he's almost all the way back to his bouncy self tho he's still recovering.
Can you tell I loovve that little guy?
And thank you for the get well wishes. Very kind of you.
My strep morphed into bronchitis but I'm almost recovered as well.

What a rough time for you and your little guy, but I'm glad Bit's going to be okay. I was wondering what was happening when I hadn't seen you on the Board for almost 2 weeks.
Sorry to hear you got bronchitis. I had that once, which turned into pneumonia, and it was awful.
I understand how you feel. I have 2 cats myself and I love 'em dearly, but luckily we have no rattlers here. *Big hug* for Bit.

Hmm... Is Bit a dog? (I know that I'm stupid.) Well anyway, hugs for your little guy
Hope he gets better soon!

Yes. And he thanks you for the Hug. He's a fluffy, all-white, ball of bounces and doggy-kisses.
On another note: I didn't know that a poster shouldn't address someone personally unless it was a pm. So sorry for that and hope everyone's got their happy shoes on now.
