Is it me, or free servers of Gamespy won't "contact"?
I have tried these days to download some files (d-mods, practically) like Catacombs or Crosslink.
The only server that my connection could "contact" was the first high-speed server, but the others cannot.
Anyone else got this problem?

For me, the gamespy page won't even load. It gets the background and the sidebar - and then just sits there.

I haven't ever had major problems with gamespy downloads. I haven't downloaded any files in some time, either.
I tried to download A Knight's Tale 2 yesterday. At first it said the file wasn't found so I clicked the Back button and tried again. I then got the same problem you did - only the first high-speed served loaded. It seemed like the page was stuck. I minimized it and went on to something else and when I came back about 10 minutes later all the servers had loaded. Interestingly, even though the page seemed stuck I could still click the link to the first server. Call me a cynic but that combined with other problems I've had make me think it's possibly some ploy to get us to purchase a membership.

Yeah, I have that problem all of the time, for reasons I can't fathom.

Hmm, that's probably because of the horrible javascript code that FilePlanet uses. Instead of polling each server and then sending you the results, it has you poll each server. So if you're downloading something (or viewing another web page and whatnot), it might take a while for you to make a successful connection to each server. That's my guess, anyway.
Though it could be a plot to get you to purchase membership too, like you said
