I disagree. 
Straight to the point. I've discovered a little program ( seriously, it's little ) that resembles adobe photoshop. I doubt that it has the same power as photoshop, but it's still useful, and simpler to use. It's free and it requires only 10Mb space ( don't have a clue how ). It's worth checking out, if you're interested in such stuff. The name is "paint.net", and make sure to find additional plugins for it, if you don't find the newest version.

Yeah, I have that. It's pretty useful for some stuff, as is GIMP. Though, I usually use GraphicsGale for spriting.

I also have all these programs (minus Photoshop)...but I mostly use Graphics Gale and GIMP depending on what I'm making.

Yeah, paint.net is great. It's as intuitive to pick up as paint, but a lot more powerful.

Plus it doesn't crap out on .bmp files by forcing you to use a crappy palette nobody uses.

I love Pixelmator! It's the only alternative to photoshop that I don't hate...
