Agghhh! Something really bad has happened, and I don't know how to fix it!
Suddenly, and for no explicable reason I can think of, every single tile has lost it's hardness! I tried replacing the .INI file, but that didn't help. Should I replace the hard-dat or something? What can I do?
The future of Scarab depends on it!

The situation has ben averted. Phew! Dink can now continue to battle S Club 7! Woohoo!

That happened to me too, several times. I replaced the hard.dat, so sometimes I've got the blue hardness that's all over the water and rocks and sometimes the white that's just a line on the borders.
Strange... Why do we have those 2 different kinds of hardness?

I think it's to do with missile brains, and they can go over one type of hardness, but not another. But I might have made that up.
The same thing happened to me in the early days of making Scarab, months ago. I couldn't figure out what was going on and deleted the game...
But not this time!

Correct (or nearly) sp_flying sprites (which missiles normally are) can go over blue hardness but not yellow. Not purple either but don't ask what that one's for.

Hm, no, I meant that different hard.dat's give different hardness. There's one that has hardness all over the water, so when you press spacebar,you see blue instead of water - and then you've got the hard.dat that shows just a small line where the water meets the grass but there's no hardness that covers the water.
