Zelda CD-i cutscenes
This is a great thread. I'm sure this will go somewhere.
On a more direly serious note...They are are probably the wierdest cutscenes I've seen in a game. Any comments or thoughts? Personally, I love them and their stupid weird art-style. I haven't seen anything like them anywhere else.
Haven't tried this but someone showed me the other night and thought of it when you showed us those links. Here is some cool graphics for a game, I like those styles more so than huge realistic graphics that hog my resources and dont add anything to the game play, just to the immersion.
Think one of my current fav graphics is machinarium their graphics are so cute and I think really amazing
The link is a demo u can play - have a look at the way the graphics are done super cool I thought

Wow, Machinarium is pretty cool! I managed to finish the demo, and I like the graphics on it quite a lot. It's challenging enough that I can't get away with clicking randomly but instead have to think, and the graphics are very good at hiding the things I need to find. Very nice little game; thank you for sharing.
I will say though that the Zelda CD-i cutscenes aren't really part of the main gameplay. They are just animated tidbits that are really strange looking and ridiculous in just the right way.

Ah the CD-i. A commercial failure. Philips combined with russian animators created hilarious games like Wand of Gamelon. Those cutscenes are widely used in Youtube Poops. You should also check out Hotel Mario actually made by Philips where the cutscenes are funny as hell!
YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY. ALL TOASTERS, TOAST TOAST.
If you want any tips on great games, just name a genre and I'll do my best.

Yeah pretty cool wee game - I bought it on steam after playing that demo and it gets harder and harder but is still one of the cutest and decent puzzle games I have tried. Unwritten tales is one i am playing now - but its a lot lot easier
I remember playing zelda but have no recollection of the cut scenes... maybe like in dink i just spammed the keys till they were over heh

DON'T relate those CD-i games anywhere NEAR Legend of Zelda as they really are the worst failures the world has ever seen.
I think the point 'n' click genre games are making a slight comeback now seeing Machinarium, Deponia, Dream Machine and The Next Big Thing and lots more.

Yeah, YouTube Poops are actually where I first found out about the CD-i games, but I think the real cutscenes are even better when they aren't edited. Yeah, the Zelda CD-i games were serious failures because of the console they were on, and even though I haven't played them they look like they aren't very fun gameplay wise. But those cutscenes...
I have already seen the Hotel Mario cutscenes (I just had to after seeing the Zelda ones). While I didn't enjoy them quite as much as the Zelda ones, they were still very hilarious. "Here's the problem! Too many toasters!" The Ultimate Bloopers video of it is pretty funny too.
