Those were the days...
Looking at the boards then and now... to me, this was a golden age. Not quite the nineties, when Seth, SimonK, Striker and Dan Walma walked amongst us like gods and we, in infantile devotion longed to rival the great dmods but still - a good time I will remember fondly in moments of nostalgia.
I can see why, looking now, you'd say 3 years ago was a golden age. Although Dinkers have been complaining about the forum going downhill since the beginning of the millenium. I miss the times of 2006-2007 and the times before that when I only used to check the forum. I may have been an ultra noob back then, and hated by everyone, but I still enjoyed this place more back then. I think 2009 was the year this place started feeling the age and slowed down a lot.
Yeah, I think everyone has their favorite era. Mine was probably from 2001-2004. Those were excellent years for the community, IMO. I'm rather impressed this community is still more or less around for a freeware game that was released around 15 years ago.

So things started getting worse once i got active?

It's unbelievable that this place still exists. A unique place on the internet, this, that's for sure.
For me, 2001-2004 was probably the apex of the DN's awesomeness. It's had some delightful members both before and after, but the activity and quality of output in those days was fantastic.

There is still a way to create this into a great place again. We just need a special someone to give someone special access who has special skills to do special things.
Ms. Dink had those kinds of powers, of fright with her "BOOTY CALLS" "SHIVERS", or Seth.
Just combining two comments to make SURE they don't pass unoticed:
1.

Well, and I was wondering about making some stuff related to that. Reengineering a certain D-Mod with assembly knowledge to identify a pattern and then make something that would attract some viewers. Bullshoot, let just a tallented person cuddle-talks Seth.
Some pillow talking and we are back to the scene. Who agrees?
