community d-mod
i wrote a message about this in a blog, entitled "if you're happy and you know it clap your WTF???" which you still might want to check out, but then i decided that it would be better if i moved it here where more people would probably see it.
here's how this is going to work: each person wanting to be a character in the game is going to write me an email containing AT LEAST 15 different things they want that character to say at some point in the game, and also if you want to, say some things you want your character to do. i will make a character of every person who sends me an email, and i will only use the lines that they send me in the game, arranged any way that i see fit; therefore, i won't be creating my own lines, i'll be using those sent in by the people that want to participate(except for the lines that dink says of course, but if you have something that you want him to say, then you can email that to me as well). if enough people participate, this dmod will turn out just great. and you don't just have to send what you want your character to say or do, you can send in something that you want dink to do, or even a part of the plot of the dmod. this is a project where i'm going to take input from everyone and try to make something of it, using basically only the input i get. just watch, it'll be cool

Sad to say it, but a community d-mod has been discussed before, and somebody is supposedly making one right now. I don't think they are though, and yours sounds cool. I'll e-mail you some stuff soon.

PM is just fine if you want to do that instead, just anyway you want to, and there's no big rush, but i do plan on spending only a few weeks on this so there's some pace but anyway...

If you choose to send your info via email, in the title of the email please put your dink network username and something about a dmod so i'll know who its from so i don't have to go searching endlessly for hours to find out whos email address something came from +cough+RustedSorrow+cough+
i talked to trav and his community project, under a few horrifying circumstances, has been discontinued, so he gave me the okay to go ahead with mine, and it's all good. +sigh+ i have the feeling that no one's gonna send in their character info and i'm just gonna have to make up stuff that they supposedly told me to say! mwahahaha i'm so evil...

blah...let me explain this once again. send RANDOM THINGS THAT YOU WANT TO BE SAID AT SOME POINT and also THINGS THAT COULD BE PART OF THE PLOT and i'll THROW IT ALL TOGETHER and it'll be a SMORGISHBORG of RANDOM SILLINESS!!

due to some very excruciating circumstances, i've decided to cancel my d-mod community project. probably wouldn't have worked out anyway, but i set the standards too high on it and no one but kory (i think?) emailed me with character lines. thus, it's the second project that i've started and not finished, and the reason is probably the same as what okalyddude said: "i see the problem here. you're relying on other people. and other people suck". anyway, i've still got one more project going that i know for a fact will get finished one day...but i'm going to stop right now and start over when the source to dink comes out, because i have some ideas for different things that would be cool but require some minor changes to dinkc to do. either way, thanks for those of you who tried to help work on this failed project
