Acctually, I just wrote one (dos based, I will make a windows one here in a few), but I wont distribute it.

I've written one, I know Beuc wrote one, Gary Hertel wrote one, and there were probably others who did. It's not a new phenomenon, but it's, I guess, an unwritten law in the community that says that decompilers of .d files shouldn't be released and/or distributed.

That's right. If you can make it yourself, good for you. If you can't, too bad. Unless of course you lose your own .c files when you forgot you couldn't open .d files (guilty of doing so the first year of my d-mod making career).

What's all this mystery stuff about 'if you can't make it you can't have mine'?
I don't think I'll ever be smart enough - or interested - to make a decompiler, but what if I couldn't make one but needed one?

I'd give you mine if you needed it, like .d-ed your dmod and stored it somewhere, then lost the original .c-s. Or maybe have you send me the .d-s, and then send you the decompiled .c-s left, hehe.

Oh, that's nice of you Phoenix.
You know what? I'll just stick to .c files!

Was gonna suggest that actually. .d-ing your dmod is useless really. Many people can still access the files (due to decompilers) and it's harder for others to see what you've done if you .d the files. Another advantage is that we don't have to get all those annoying source packs people sometimes give out a while after the dmod has been released.
